Manchester United's recently retired legend Paul Scholes has told Wayne Rooney to stay at Manchester United because you don't go to a better place from United.
Scholes comments come after a summer of
uncertainty surrounding Rooney, after Rooney had handed in a transfer request late last season. Chelsea and Arsenal are thought to be the interested parties, though Chelsea are thought to be in pole position to sign the United striker.

Scholes told Sky Sports News: "I don't think there's
anywhere better than Manchester United to play your football.

"It's up to Wayne - but he's a top, top player and every player and fan wants him to stay.
Chelsea has had 1 official bid rejected and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has made no secret of it, though there has be no official confirmation that the club will make another bid for the striker. It is thought that United value Rooney higher than the £25m bid Chelsea had made.
Scholes, who himself never made any transfer request, retired at the end of last season following a career which spanned over almost 2 decades, in which he played only for Manchester United, making 718 appearances for the club while scoring 155 goals and winning 11 Premier League titles and 2 Champions Leagues. Scholes had retired at the end of the 2010/11 season but came out of retirement in January last year. However, he retired again at the end of last season after helping United to another Premier League title win.
New manager David Moyes knows there's a void to fill at United and he has seen 2 bids for Spanish International Cesc Fabregas rejected. Moyes believes Fabregas could be the perfect successor to Scholes. Moyes has had a tough pre-season with United where his team has won just 1 out 4 times and is still adjusting in his new role after taking over from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, but Scholes believes he's not under any pressure to recruit anyone.
He said: ''I don't think there's that much pressure.
''He's got a quality squad there, with already 18-20 quality players
''Even if Sir Alex Ferguson was there he would want to sign two or three players. That's the norm every season - to improve the year after, even if you've won the league.
''I'm sure David Moyes is trying to get players - and hopefully he'll get the ones he wants.''
